s45c Normalized Steel Round Bar
s45c Normalized Steel has good properties for machining like tapping, milling, broaching, drilling, turning and sawing etc.
Normalizing, abbreviated as N can eliminate excessive stress inside the gear, increase the toughness of the gear and improve the cutting performance of the material. Normalizing is commonly used for gears made of high quality carbon steel or alloy steel with a carbon content of 0.3% to 0.5%. The strength and hardness of the normalizing steel are lower than that of the quenched or tempered steel, and the hardness is HB 163 to 217. Therefore, for large diameter steel bar that are not very mechanically demanding or are not suitable for quenching or quenching, normalizing is often used.
