58SiMn Steel Round Bar has good hardenability and stable mechanical properties. Generally, it is steel for shells with high fragmentation rate. It is widely used in the ammunition industry due to its high mechanical strength, high hardenability and high hardness. Shell steel requires high strength, high hardness and high fragmentation rate under the action of explosive load. Because the cartridge case is a consumable, the consumption is large and the cost is low. Medium carbon steel or medium carbon alloy structural steel is generally used, such as 50Mn, 58SiMn and 60mnmo steel. It is usually delivered in Bright Steel Round Bar condition.
